The Udhampur assembly (vidhan sabha) constituency of Jammu and Kashmir state falls under the Udhampur district. Udhampur is a city in district of the same name in Jammu and Kashmir. It is the second largest city of Jammu. The city is named after Raja Udham Singh and also serves as the headquarters of Indian army. As of 2011 Indian census, it had a population of 1,82,778.
Pawan Kumar Gupta, Independent, won the 2014 assembly elections by defeating Balwant Singh Mankotia of Panthers Party. Gupta secured 36226 votes while 2 times MLA Mankotia got 21576 votes, While BJP candidate Pawan Khajuria came third.
